With the right creative team and a faithful adaptation of the source material, I think a Discworld movie or TV show could be a huge hit.
I believe that there is still potential for a great Terry Pratchett adaptation. There are over 40 Discworld novels, and each one is its own unique story and that can be overwhelming, which do you do, what elements, where do you take it but I also feel it is a rich universe with an abundance of story telling to be had. This can be difficult to translate to a visual medium, where it can be easy for jokes to fall flat but some of the books have been the only books that have made me laugh out loud from reading. His humor is often subtle and relies on a deep understanding of the Discworld setting. I understand that Pratchett's work is very difficult to adapt. Those adaptions have been appalling really with little or no effort invested in them to create something great. However, despite several attempts over the years, there has never been a truly great Discworld movie or TV show. Terry Pratchett is one of the most beloved fantasy authors of all time, and his Discworld series is a vast and rich world that would seem to be ripe for adaptation.
